Hillary Clinton pandering?  I know…shocker, huh?  (hat tip: MM)

From Las Vegas Review Journal:

Clinton and her busload of traveling press moved from there to the popular local Mexican restaurant Lindo Michoacan, where a “roundtable” that was actually square passed a microphone around to tell her people’s concerns about the mortgage crisis and foreclosures. She took notes and munched on tortilla chips.

In broken English, one woman told Clinton how she wasn’t making money as a broker anymore.

“I have no income at all,” she said. “So how will I survive?”

Choking up with emotion, the woman said, “In my neighborhood, there are brand-new homes, but the value is nothing. I’m glad you are here so I can tell you, because you’re going to be the president, I know.”

A man shouted through an opening in the wall that his wife was illegal.

No woman is illegal,” Clinton said, to cheers.

So Hillary was made aware the wife of one of the men there was illegal.  Question:  Did she report the illegal, and the man that is obviously harboring the illegal, to ICE?  If not, why not?  Very simple answer- pandering.  Pandering to get the votes of the pro-illegal alien anti-border security folks, particularly the women.  There’s no other explanation that holds water.  “No woman is illegal?”  Gimme a break.  If a foreign national is in our country without lawful permission, they are here illegally.  Why in the hell can’t anyone grasp that?  They didn’t accidentally trip across the border and magically end up here, they made a conscious decision to break our nation’s laws and ignore our national sovereignty.  It is illegal.  Say it with me, Hillary.. you can do it… illeeeeeegal

Does this woman have a legal right to exist as a human being?  Absolutely.  She just doesn’t have a legal right to be here

Now, back to the question of whether or not Hillary reported the illegal alien to ICE.  I’m guessing not.  By not reporting the illegal alien, can that be considered assisting, aiding, or abetting the illegal behavior?  Hmmm…

According to the Federal Immigration and Nationality Act:

Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)

Excerpts: “Any person who . . . encourages or induces an illegal alien to . . . reside . . . knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such . . . residence is . . . in violation of law, shall be punished as provided . . . for each illegal alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs . . . fined under title 18 . . . imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both.”Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):

A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:

  • assists an illegal alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or
  • encourages that illegal alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or
  • knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.

It is a violation of law for any person to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection in any place, including any building or means of transportation, any illegal alien who is in the United States in violation of law. Harboring means any conduct that tends to substantially facilitate an alien to remain in the U.S. illegally. The sheltering need not be clandestine, and harboring covers aliens arrested outdoors, as well as in a building. This provision includes harboring an alien who entered the U.S. legally but has since lost his legal status.
