Radio talk show host Lars Larson has brought attention to yet another example of how the pendulum of political correctness has swung so far in the opposite direction of common sense and decency.  Christian images and statues are often removed from public areas so as not to offennnnd non-Christians.  Pro-military images are often removed from public areas so as not to offennnnd anti-war folks.  However, “art” such as the anti-American, anti-military, anti-Christian, anti-capitalism malarkey at Portland’s public taxpayer-funded airport is apparently perfectly acceptable.

So, tell me… do you think this is acceptable at an American public taxpayer-funded airport?  I think not.

anti-american art

Michelle Malkin has posted a response from the airport authorities concerning the so-called “art.”

Please be assured that it is not our intention to offend anyone. Art is inherently subjective and can be provocative and thought provoking. We understand how it can affect people in different ways and we regret that this one has affected you negatively.

Although we retain the right to decline art that is chosen under this program, we do not plan to remove art from this display until its normal rotation ends in November of this year.

What a bunch of crap.  If someone wants to have this “art” in a private museum, or at a private institution, or private home, then more power to them.  But that so-called “art” has no place at a US-taxpayer funded airport.
