NumbersUSA brings us news that members of Congress have slipped amnesty for illegal aliens into legislation meant for funding the Iraq war. (hat tip: MM)

Our NumbersUSA Capitol Hill Team got several confirmations through both Democratic and Republican sources that Sen. Feinstein (D-Calif.) was preparing to add an [agricultural] amnesty to the Iraq bill Thursday afternoon in the Senate Appropriations Committee.
We don’t know the details of the amnesty. There is some chance she may try to slip it through by not including permanent legalization but just giving one or two million illegal ag workers a 5-year amnesty that allows them to work and live here while further sinking roots. The open-borders champions hope that the longer illegal aliens stay the more difficult it will ever be to deny them U.S. citizenship.
Michelle Malkin reports that the bill passed the Senate Appropriations Committee, 17-12.
When will these spineless politicos actually do what the majority of Americans want, stop this madness, and stop trying to reward people who have no respect for our national sovereignty? Granting amnesty would be a huge slap in the face to millions of legal immigrants who have jumped through hoops, paid thousands of dollars, and are waiting their turn for a chance at the American dream.
Secure the borders. Enforce the laws. No amnesty.

Do you not have a lock on the door of your home? Do you not control who enters it, or do you just allow anyone to enter and do as they see fit? Why then should our nation not also have sane enforceable policies and procedures to determine who enters our country? If you’ve stood in line for hours for a rollercoaster ride, is it perfectly acceptable to you for a group of people to just waltz up and butt into the front of the line ahead of you?
No one with more than two functioning brain cells wants immigration, legal immigration, stopped. Granting amnesty to those who willingly and knowingly broke our nation’s immigration laws is a complete slap in the face to all those who have waited their turn for years, spent untold thousands of dollars, those who respect our borders and sovereignty, followed our nation’s policies and procedures, and stood in line patiently for their shot at the American dream. That applies to all legal immigrants, no matter where they’re from.
To lump illegal aliens in the same category as legal immigrants just by magically snapping fingers and granting ‘amnesty’ is pure bovine excrement.

If someone walks into my home, and I than ask them to wash the dishes and mow the lawn the rules have changed. They are no longer unwelcome. They’re here with my permission.
